Artist Statement

My passion and experience intersect at the meetings of theatre, community, sexuality, gender, mental health and social justice. I believe that in art, in theatre, we can use both the process and the product to create new paradigms through which both artists and audience can find belonging and be activated for change

In all my roles, I center my work around creating and holding brave spaces for people to dive into charged subject matter while supporting them with creative structure, trauma-sensitive practices and intentional community. I believe that mindfully curated spaces where folks have agency to step outside their comfort zones, allows for a deeper level of vulnerability, honest communication, productivity and personal growth.

I am aligned with the healing power of theatre and performance, and the ability of art to allow people to tap into a deeper, more embodied level of empathy than they can access through intellect alone. All of my work centers around serving communities by using creativity, ritual and education to facilitate a collective exploration of how the world works and the ways in which we want to make it work better.
